The Del Mar Highlands shopping center has a little splash pad that is perfect for toddlers and small children looking to have some splashy fun! There are a lot of shops and restaurants in the center, including: Gepetto’s, CeramiCafe, Jimbos, Snooze, Rubio’s Jamba Juice and Swirls Frozen Yogurt (located right next to the splash pad for extra summer fun!). There is also a lot of seating nearby for parents (out of the splash zone). It’s open year around until 10pm, except during November and December (when the center puts up a Christmas tree).

My husband and I took our daughter here in July because we needed to go to a couple of stores in the center, and we figured we could get lunch, stop by the splash pad and make an afternoon of it. She had a great time and fell asleep in the car on the way home (that never happens any more)!
Seating for Parents
There is a lot of seating nearby for parents, including tables and chairs outside the frozen yogurt shop (Swirls) and coffee shop (Pappaleco).
Center Events
In 2019, Del Mar Highlands has an event for kids at 10am one Thursday each month called “Hullabaloo” (you can get more information here). It takes place at the splash pad and features music and other activities for kids. There is also live music on Fridays from 6pm – 9pm in the upper plaza nearby.
