Winterwood Lane/Christa McAuliffe Park is a nice park with a couple of play structures and a sand play area. It does not have restrooms. According to the Mira Mesa Recreational Council Webpage, "this park was originally planned to be a large community park named in honor of an astronaut who died in the Challenger Space Shuttle disaster. Unfortunately, much of the land in Christa’s park was taken over by Fairy Shrimp, a protected species."
