There are two Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Parks in San Diego: one in Oceanside and one in Encanto on Skyline Drive. Both are great parks!
In honor of MLK Day, I recently visited both Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Parks in San Diego to share a bit about each park.
Martin L. King, Jr Park in Encanto
Martin L King in Encanto has a playground with climbing rocks, slides, swings, and some wheelchair accessible equipment. It features a walking-hiking trail, a large grassy area, ball fields, four full-court basketball courts, tennis courts, soccer field, a pool, and a recreation center. It has restrooms.
I used to come to this park everyday after school when I was in elementary school. The playground equipment has all be updated, but the pool and recreation center still have the same signage and features, and brought back a lot of memories. Information about the recreation center can be found here.
