Parks are great places to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day! If you find yourself at a park on March 17th, you may want a couple of fun St. Paddy’s Day activities you can do. Here are some fun (mostly free) things to do to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day at a park.
Things to Do
Sidewalk Chalk Rainbows
It is said that a leprechaun’s pot of gold is at the end of the rainbow. Make your own rainbows with sidewalk chalk!
Make a Leprechaun Trap
Use sticks, bark, leaves and anything else you can find to make a trap to catch a leprechaun. You can also use things from home or the car (a box is good). If you catch a leprechaun, he’ll have to give you his gold!
Look for Four Leaf Clovers
The shamrock (or three leaf clover) is the traditional symbol for St. Patrick’s Day, but that doesn’t mean you can’t look for the rare (and lucky!) four-leaf clover today! The leaves of four-leaf clovers are said to stand for faith, hope, love, and luck.
Have a Green (or Rainbow!) Snack
You can keep it simple with some green grapes or a handful of Lucky Charms cereal. One year, I made a rainbow fruit salad (strawberries, oranges, bananas, green grapes (or kiwi), blueberries and purple grapes) for my daughter and she loved it!
